  • Position:        Finance Officer

    Salary:            Competitive, based on experience

    We are delighted to invite applications for the role of Finance Officer within our Finance team. This pivotal role will primarily focus on managing the purchase ledger and providing support to both the School Accountant and the Billings Officer to ensure the effective delivery of our financial operations.

    Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Finance Officer will maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and support the broader financial administration across Mount St Mary’s College and Barlborough Hall School. This role contributes to the development of a professional, cost-effective, and high-performing Finance function that underpins the success of our leadership teams and supports the schools' overall strategic goals.

    The Ideal Candidate

    We are looking for someone who:

    • Has experience working in a finance or accounting role, ideally within education or a similarly structured organisation.

    • Is AAT qualified (or working towards it); higher qualifications are welcomed.

    • Has strong knowledge of purchase ledger processes and general financial administration.

    • Possesses excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

    • Works well as part of a team and is committed to supporting others within the Finance department.

  • Working Pattern:       Part time – 0.2 or 0.4 FTE

     

    Salary:                         Mount St. Mary’s College Teaching pay scales MPS/UPS

     

    We are recruiting for an English Teacher to join us! This position will begin with us in September 2025.

     

    The Role

    You will be able to teach the full English curriculum and develop this, as required. English is a very successful and high achieving faculty with excellent results at GCSE and A-Level.  As a Teacher of English, you will contribute to its continuing success at all key stages and increase the profile of the subject across the College and wider community.

     

    Adhering to all teaching standards, you will have an energetic passion and commitment for the subject and able to instill a love of learning by delivering inspirational and engaging lessons. An ability to teach Digital Media is advantageous.

     

    As a Teacher at the Mount, you will make the safety, wellbeing and education of pupils your key concern. You will be accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct. Acting with honesty and integrity, you will have strong subject knowledge; keep your knowledge and skills as a Teacher up-to-date. You will forge positive professional relationships; and work with parents in the best interests of the pupils.

    The role and you

    As a Lead Art Teacher you will join the Expressive Arts Faculty, and teach a timetable of Art lessons and shape the direction of the department. Pupils at the Mount enjoy a wide range of exciting extra-curricular opportunities and the Expressive Arts Faculty are a key part of that element of the School. With the support and trust of the Head of Faculty and the senior leadership team, and, with great facilities, the Art department enjoy small class sizes ensuring maximum participation, learning and creativity.

     

    The ideal candidate will have a creative, positive and flexible approach to delivering the Art curriculum and it is essential they are a specialist with the ability and experience of teaching key stage 3 (teaching of key stages 4 and 5 are desirable, but not essential).   • Working Pattern:       35 hours per week

    Shifts are 6.30am – 2pm or 11.30am – 7pm

    Weekend shifts worked on a rota

    Evening / events expected to be covered with notice provided

    Term time only (35 weeks per year plus holiday entitlement pay)

    OR

    52 weeks per year (25 days holiday allowance)

     

    Salary:                        £13.50 per hour

    The Role

    We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic chef with a proactive approach and solid catering experience. You will work as part of a team in the preparation of the daily menus for the school including preparing fresh foods, breads and homemade desserts. Due to the nature of our business you will be expected to act upon your own initiative and be flexible in your approach which may require extended hours of work.

     

    The Catering Team play a vital role in ensuring that a high quality food service is offered to pupils, boarders and staff, meeting the high expectations of the food facility offered at the School.

     

    You

    The successful applicant will have a working knowledge of current food safety and hygiene legislations, have previous experience of being a Chef in a busy environment. Relevant catering qualifications are advantageous for the successful candidate although experience is essential. Having a positive and flexible approach with the ability to take initiative and innovate is key to this role.
