OM Festival of Sport 2024

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to join our ‘Festival of Sport’ celebrations on Saturday 6th July 2024. 

 

We are warmly inviting Old Mountaineers, staff, friends and their families to celebrate the Mount’s sporting history. It will also be an opportunity to look to the future, unveiling our plans to keep sport central to all that we do.  

 

The festival will start with OM matches of rugby and hockey, starting at midday in a league style format, culminating in a final for the winners of each league. The games will be 10 a side for rugby and 7 a side for hockey in a shortened format.  Veterans touch rugby and hockey will also be incorporated!  

 

We are delighted that we will be joined by a number of former members of staff, including Mr Ged Glynn, Mr Geoff Wappet, Mr Paul Scott, Mr John Hopkins and Mr Dylan Campbell, to name just a few. 

 

Following the tournament, from 6pm, there will be an evening celebration in festival style on the Jesuit Lawn. There will be food and drinks stalls, plus a stage for live music featuring bands starring OM’s from across the decades. A perfect setting for old friends and colleagues to mix and share memories of their time at The Mount. Accommodation will be available in the school for you and any family members you wish to bring.
